About the Sanctuary
Dream Haven Equine Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, founded by Shirley Ford, dedicated to rescuing, rehabbing, and providing long-term, superior, care for off-the-track Thoroughbreds. We are not an adoption agency nor do we rehome the horses in our care.
What We Do
Simply put... we rescue Thoroughbreds that are in horrific condition and rehab them to live out their days peacefully, with dignity, health, and happiness. Many of our intakes come in with a body score of 1 or worse, sometimes with rain rot, fungal infections, huge parasitic loads, founder, lice, or other health and injury issues. BUT... they don't stay that way for long thanks to our amazing Sanctuary Manager, Kathleen Deegan.

Join the Cause
Dream Haven Equine Sanctuary is in need of volunteers and donations. We work extremely hard to ensure these horses are properly cared for with everything that they need. Monetary donations are wonderful and are very helpful to supply needs such as feed, hay, veterinarian, farrier, and basic care needs. However, we also appreciate donations of feed, hay, supplies (such as buckets, water troughs, ice boots, soft ride boots, bandaging supplies, and more.
